Business launches are tough! Here’s how ours went..

Have you ever wondered how well someones launch or offer went?

Well, we thought we’d share how our 10% off solo & 15% off for teams offer went last week!

Did you even know it happened?!?

So, the majority of tickets for the Funpreneurs BIG Day Out that have already sold have gone to the Founding Funpreneurs from last year and our core audience, which would be you and members of 🎪The Digital Circus..

Excitedly, we’d already sold more tickets than in 2024, so we were excited for this bigger BIG Day Out..

As a helpful context for scale, the venue holds 80 people and we’re actually only looking for 40 people as we like the intimacy and bijou feel that this brings. It also allows you to meet more people! [it does… we’ve done the research…🧐]

Also, the BIG Day Out isn’t a core revenue stream for us. It’s about having fun with people and having hugs [#HugsAreNotOptional].

So we price it accordingly, although ensuring that we do make a little profit to make it worth the time and effort put into it.

Really the offer was more about aiming to entice anyone outside of our core audience, as well as all of the other reasons we mentioned, which was mainly: 1) wanting to know our numbers for merch etc and 2) just making the tickets cheaper for you in potentially tough times

Honestly, we thought the floodgates would open!

We built on top of the noise we’d already made about the BIG Day Out, with emails, social posts and live streams.

We even mentioned it to people who had said they were interested in the DM, so they had the info fresh to make a decision and purchase as soon as offer day went live… [Always surprised at how many don’t reply to our joyful voice notes! 😂]

And….

We sold no new tickets.. And, we spent the entire day beating ourselves up about it!

Ok, that’s not actually true.. But is kind of…

We did beat ourselves up about it, however, we didn’t give up then, we spent the entire day pushing the message and still continued to sell none!

Then after the kids were in bed and Emily was at a quiz night at the local School at about 9pm, a lowly DM pinged in on Instagram

Did we ignore it (boundaries, switched off and all that) or answer it?

It came from someone who’d seen the offer on TikTok [omnichannel always], saying that this was awesome and exactly what they and the business pals needed… A day out, having fun and meeting new people!

We know this person, but hadn’t actually chatted to each other in years…

Rather excitingly they bought three tickets…

Then, we sold one more after we’d gone to bed that night. That was a fabulous surprise to wake up to.

Two more sneaked in on the next morning and then, we’ve sold two more since then in the past few days..

We also have lots more interest, including someone who, we quote, ‘I’ve seen all your posts and it looks great’.

Saying that, this person has never engaged with any of the posts on any of the platforms we talk about it on.. But, they’ve told us they like it and have seen all of them! [90% of people who see your post don’t engage with it!! Don’t be one of them].

So, we are well on our way to our target of 40 now..

Of course, there are loads and loads of learnings here.. Too many to write here…

The biggest takeaway for us is something an Army Personal Trainer told me [Alan] years ago, when I was training in the park with Brit Mil Fit [BMF].. He said “always sprint past the finish line, don’t ease up before it…”

So, if you are thinking that this is all a bit shit. Then dig in and keep going.. Keep chatting, sharing, being visible and making it simple for people to buy from you..

You’ve got this…

We’ve got this…

Let’s do this…

Momento mori always…
