The Funpreneurs BIG Day Out, it is Ok to Do Serious Business at a Theme Park!

When you last made a great connection on your business adventure, you know that someone where you met, chatted, and by the end of it, you knew you liked them, you knew you wanted to keep chatting with them. And it didn’t matter if it was business or companionship!

What do you think of when you think of that person? Is it what revenue their business makes, or is it a personal fact about their life that you bonded over?

Emily & Alan Braithwaite of Yellow Tuxedo welcome all of the 2026 Funpreneurs to the Funpreneurs BIG Day Out at Paultons Park for the best business networking event ever.

If it’s the latter, then this is for you…

If it’s the former, then of course that’s fab. Do feel free to read on regardless, but this is really about people connecting with others on a personal level, something that is pretty tough to do when you’re caught up in day to day business and traditional networking.

It’s about creating a space where conversations about stamps, Costco, solar panels, and EV charging all take place naturally. Along with the usual: what do you do and who do you do it for! Because it’s the personal conversations that actually connect us on a human level.

Ant Burdett-Clark and other small business owners bond over a pineapple the Funpreneurs BIG Day Out at Paultons Park for the best business networking event ever.

Now, imagine having those EV charging conversations in the queue for a roller coaster, or whilst you’re enjoying a scenic park walk, or even when you’re sat by the meerkats chilling. That connection is then amplified by those shared experiences.

And it’s those experiences and those conversations where the true magic happens. By that time, all of the pre-rehearsed business chat has been used up and we’re operating at a human level… and we’ve not even ridden on a roller coaster yet!

Instead, we have played ‘extreme’ rock-paper-scissors and started to plan a ‘Pass the Pineapple’ video production.

What Happens at The Funpreneurs BIG Day Out?

So, what actually went down at this year’s The Funpreneurs BIG Day Out?

Well, 38 fabulous Funpreneurs joined us at Paultons Park for the day.

  • 26% were there for their third Funpreneurs BIG Day Out.
  • 58% were there for their second Funpreneurs BIG Day Out.
  • 39% were there for their first Funpreneurs BIG Day Out.

Now, as we were planning and organising it, we kept coming back to ‘what’s the business angle here’. Every single time we did that, we had to stop, check ourselves before we wrecked ourselves, and go back to the core fact: this day was never meant to be directly about business and business learnings.

The day is, was, and always will be about fun, being a human being, and the utter magic that happens when you allow yourself to do that [you’ve read our Art of Fun manifesto, on our website, right?].

So, plan made, pineapples purchased, and googly eyes all stuck down by Emily [she’s so awesome], we cracked on.

The Spark Lab Experiments: Ditching the Pre-Rehearsed Business Chat

With a theme of Spark Lab, we set up three unique, experiential experiments throughout the day: one as an individual, one as a team, and one for everyone to complete together.

  • 3] Everyone: The collective chain reaction
  • 2] Team: Pass the Pineapple
  • 1] Individual: The Ussy Challenge

And, yes, they all happened. Yes, of course we’d say this, but they were all awesome (ish)!

We’re not actually sure a single blog post will ever do the Funpreneurs BIG Day Out full justice. The thoughts, feedback, and posts from the Funpreneurs themselves tell the story so much better than we ever could.

And part of that reason is because different business owners get completely different things from their BIG Day Out:

  • Some get a much-needed creative break away from the desk.
  • Some meet entirely new people.
  • Some create a deeper friendship with peers they already knew.
  • Some just LOVE riding the roller coasters.
  • Some want to hang out with other like-minded people for the day.
  • Some just want to fully embrace the fun.
Some small business owners want to ride the rides at the Funpreneurs BIG Day Out at Paultons Park for the best business networking event ever.

However, according to the feedback, every single person left with an amazing sense of joy.

Some left with actual business being done. Some left with a fab set of photos to share. Some left with fresh motivation and inspiration for what they tackle next. Some loved the experience so much that they literally bought extra tickets to donate to charity for next year.

Only you will ever know what you will leave with, but you won’t know unless you come and get involved.

Will It Be Happening in 2027?

Yes, it’s happening… It really blimmin is!

In fact, 71% of our 2026 Funpreneurs bought their ticket for 2027 within 4 days of the event wrapping up.

Now, this part is for you if you’re on the fence, had a massive case of FOMO this year, wanted to come but couldn’t make it, or felt any of the other millions of things we heard when chatting to you on the run-up.

Lock it in your diary: 10th June 2027 🎪

You won’t regret it if you want to feel human, feel joy, and experience genuine fun and happiness—all whilst being a successful business owner.
