So we alway's tell our clients that if you don't know what content to start creating always start with answering the questions your audience are already asking for you. And we can happily tell you right now that our most frequently asked question is not about SEO, its not even about how to get better engagement on Facebook posts. Oh no, our MOST frequently asked question is How on earth to we make our GIF's for Instagram Stories!!!
Oh yes, those hilarious little stickers we use of both of us pointing to posts we've shared or holding up a sign telling someone "You Rock"...those little things cause the most amount of conversation!
You know we like to share as much as we can so today we're going to show you how you can start doing this for yourself.
This is such a simple answer.
WHY THE BLIMMIN HELL NOT????????
In all seriousness, by creating branded Instagram stickers for your business you are creating another opportunity for brand awareness and to talk to your audience.
We all know that Instagram Stories are a little more relaxed than your main grid so why not take the opportunity to play with Instagram GIFS and create something wonderful. Not to mention the fact that your GIF's are searchable which means that anyone else can use them and share them on their own stories too.
In a future video we are going to show you how to create custom animated GIF's to use on the likes of Facebook, messenger and your own website as these are super simple to create too and actually can help boost your SEO!
The video above will walk you through the steps you need to take to do this but a few things you should consider before you start...
To create our stickers we have used a website called Unscreen to remove our video background. Its worth noting that the we have used the free version in this demonstration but for better quality GIF's its worth upgrading to the paid version of this app. For up to 3mins worth of editing this is just £8 per month [ at time of writing] which means you could batch create a ton of stickers in one hit to use on your socials..
The last piece of the puzzle involves creating a Giphy account to upload and store your custom GIF's. I would suggest you do this regardless of how many GIF's you intend to create as this is yet another opportunity for people to discover and get to know your brand. Just check out the stats in the video of our current sticker views!
Also you should also remember that using Giphy is another way of gaining backlinks to your website which will ultimately help strengthen your domain authority as a whole. This can't be a bad thing right??
When you create your Giphy account you will need to select the brand account option and go through the simple instructions for getting yourself set up. Before you can start sharing your library over on the GIF's tab on Instagram Giphy will require your account to be verified.
You can only apply for your account to be verified once you have at least 5 stickers or GIF's uploaded onto your profile and once you have applied to be verified this could take 4-5 days to process.
Once you have a verified Giphy account you are free to share away and use your custom GIF's on social media! Just remember that sometimes it can take a little while between uploading them on Giphy and them showing up on Instagram but we find that any new stickers we create are usually live on Instagram within the hour so if you don't see them straight away do keep checking!
